At the core of this achievement was a 8,000 kW SCIM (squirrel cage induction motor) paired with Toshiba’s water-cooled TM70e2,   9 MVA medium-voltage variable speed drive. This custom-engineered solution was built to meet challenging grid and site requirements—showcasing the unique expertise of Toshiba’s engineering team in mill drive applications.
