Toshiba’s LQ series Microwave Density (Consistency) Meters use a new principle, microwave phase difference measurement, to determine the density (consistency) of fluids flowing through the pipes. The usual method of monitoring the attenuation of a transmitted wave is susceptible to flow velocity as well as contaminations for accurate measurements. This problem is avoided with the phase difference technique.  The LQ series density meters have no moving parts and do not require any projections inside the piping, enabling them to operate virtually maintenance free.

No wonder many sewage treatment, paint manufacturing and food & beverage plants in Australia and overseas are already using them.
